DIY

I'm going to be honest, it took me a while to figure out what DIY stood for. (Do It Yourself!) With that, Goodwill is my favorite place to shop! Whenever I go I find the coolest vintage fabric (curtains, sheets, tablecloths, etc...) for next to nothing. Over the weekend I've been a slave to my sewing machine stitching these fun bags. I feel like the latest ones I have made are So Ugly They're Cute.

This one is fun because the lining fabric is so cool. I love the big floral print inside the bag! The inside fabric is an old sheet and the outside fabric is an old tablecloth.

And this is the So Ugly It's Cute bag. Can you believe someone actually used the outside fabric as their curtains?! And the inside fabric is an old pillow case. This one turned out better than I thought it would.

And then the pants (old tablecloth). I had to put them on him to see if they would actually fit a child. The crotch was a little tight, but doable. And don't worry, he won't be wearing purple floral pants in public!

Getting him to sit or stand still for a photo was the hardest part. My goal is to make baby pants from old shirts. Recycle! And if I am feeling really ambitious I could put fun patches or cuffs on the bottom. Both the bags and the pants are super easy to make.
It crossed my mind to maybe try to sell some bags on Etsy, but that may be a little over my head with a teething, toddling and very intense 10 month old on my hands!
