Christmas Day

Joe got up a week ago Tuesday at 2am to get his crew ready and go plowing. He came home that evening (Christmas Eve) at 4pm and then left again at 6pm and was out plowing until 11am the following day (Christmas Day) He came home and went straight to bed mumbling, "We're not going anywhere tonight or tomorrow."

While Joe was sleeping I was having my own Christmas fun with Silas. Not only was I painting his nails, but I also was making him pose for some pictures....against his will.
Silas in a Christmas bag and hating it!

I settled for a picture of him just standing by the tree

Joe woke up at 5pm a whole new man and decided he had enough energy in him to head to his parents' house and celebrate Christmas with them. His family had already opened gifts, but they did a good job of sitting around watching us open ours when we arrived.

Silas gets Big Boy toys that make lots of noise

Our annual family Christmas picture. This marks year number 4 if you count the year Joe stopped by my parents' house on Christmas just a short six weeks after we met.

This was my favorite gift. A family heirloom. Joe's grandmother hand stitched this quilt for Michael (Joe's older brother, and also the first grandson to pass down the family name) Now, Silas is the first great-grandson so he gets the quilt. The colors and animals match Silas' room and I'm excited to find a spot for the quilt on the wall.

Grandma Margene did an excellent job. I still can't believe the whole quilt is hand stitched!!
