Kitchen Update

Remember when I thought it would be a good idea to start painting the kitchen the week of Silas's birthday party? And then it was more work than I thought it would be? I was going to hire Nate, the guy I used to paint for, but he was a bit pricier than we had anticipated.  So, my dad offered to come over and help me finish the project.  It turned out decent.  We still need to touch up some spots on the ceiling, but otherwise it is a much brighter and happier kitchen.

The cushions are an added accessory and since one of the light fixtures above the island broke we just got three new red ones.  The other accessories (above the cabinets and on the counter) are basically things I had in the house.  I intended to eventually add more above the cabinets to finish the kitchen. And I think I need something above the stove.  The main reason I love this picture so much is because it is a snapshot of my kitchen while it is CLEAN!
