Happy Good Friday!

I did a little research on Good Friday, the history and origins, and many believe that the name basically evolved from God's Friday.  Just like goodbye evolved from God be with you. It's quite the paradox to call such a day "good" when it is historically marked with sorrow and sadness.  But despite it's sadness Good Friday is truly good.  This quote sums it up for me: "Good Friday has always challenged merely human goodness. Its sad commemoration reminds us that in the face of sin, our goodness avails nothing. Only One is good enough to save us. That he did so is cause indeed for celebration." And indeed we will celebrate!

Another wonderful (but so so so far from anything as wonderful as what this day truly signifies) anniversary this day hold is the day the Joe asked me to be his bride. Three years ago today marks a memorable event in the history of Joe and Angel.  April 7th was the day Good Friday fell on in 2007.

I remember following rose pedals up the stairs to his condo.  I remember him on one knee.  I remember eating lasagna over candle light. I remember going to the movie Blades of Glory after dinner.  Three of the four events were romantic!

This picture was taken the day we talked about getting married.  I had just returned from a cruise and Joe from a ski trip with his family.  We hadn't talked for a week and I realzed that absense does make the heart grow fonder. We reunited and Joe professed his love to me and told me he wanted to get married 'someday'.  I agreed and there you have it.  A few weeks later he asked my parents for permission and a few days after that he put a ring on my finger. And yes, this picture was taken from a disposable camera. What's up 2007!
