Naked

Yesterday I took off the last of the burnt orange upholstery. There she is in all her glory!

This morning I decided to take Silas with me to the Post Office and then to JoAnn Fabrics. I put the old upholstery in a bag so I could show the the yard cutting lady how many yards I need once I picked out a fabric. I'm just going to say that we definitely didn't get that far. I did make it to JoAnn's, but the yard cutting lady still doesn't know I exist.

I was attempting to run errands while pushing Silas' morning nap back. I should've known better! And they weren't mindless errands...I had to pick something out! Do you know how indecisive I am? My husband is just as bad as I am, so as a team we're a wreck. We both have come home from Target in pieces.

Example: Roaming Target and seeing something that I could use. Oh, that would be a great to put on our counter to organize bills. I put it in my cart and continue on with my shopping. A few minutes later I think that the bill organizer isn't necessary so I put it back. I'm on my way to check out and think that in fact we really could use the bill organizer and it will serve a good purpose. I buy it and leave with buyers remorse and probably end up returning it. Happens all the time! Joe does the same thing.

So, there I am at JoAnn with an almost one year old who should be napping and is far from content just sitting the cart while I hee and haw over material. I give him something, he throws it on the ground. I carry him, he's content for one minute then he squirms. I put him down, he's runs away. And for the life of me I can't decide what material I like the best. There was a long row of on sale "home decor" material which meant way too many choices for me.

I got Silas occupied for enough time to take pictures of three different patterns that caught my eye. It's really hard for me to imagine what the chair will look like in the end. I don't want it to be too busy, but I also don't want it to be boring.

So, without further ado here are the three fabrics that I captured on my phone. I saw this and immediately thought it was fun. It is very girly which makes me a little hesitant. It would be fun for a girl's nursery, but unfortunately there is no guarantee that I will ever birth a girl. I originally got the chair thinking that it would be fun to use as a photo prop for kids. This might be too girly for that?? I love the boldness of it and the big print, though.

It's hard to tell, but this is white and dark brown. Again, I like the big print, but the more I look at it it kind of looks like I should be making a sarong out of it. I love Hawaii, but I'm not 100% on this. I think it might be cuter in person. But I do like the simplicity of the two colors.

This one is cute, but is it too 2010? Like years from now will people see the chair and say..."Oh, that's totally from twenty-ten." And is the print too small, will the chair look too busy? The colors are light blue and kind of like an avocado green. Pretty colors. Gender neutral for the most part.

There were other fun fabrics to choose from as well, but of course I couldn't even narrow it down. Any suggestions, tips, advise, HELP!!

I think the third is the best...unless the print is small. A bigger print will be easier to work with, you'll want to be able to match up the print as you put the fabric back on. Goodluck! I'm the the process of getting a chair recovered as well! I should have posted pictures too

I also like the third the best. I think it is beautiful and i think it will be tasteful for years to come. (i don't think it will be too 2010) My second choice is the second print. I also think that is a great print and would look great in your house. The third is pretty, but would have to be put in a room where it fit, and might have to "build the room around the print". Good job though, and it is nice that you checked it out without purchasing. You can alwasy go back and buy :)
