I thought I'd relieve Joe's poor hands from rubbing the dickens out of my back by the hour and call a chiropractor to get to the root of this nasty problem.
I googled "Stillwater, MN chiropractor" and decided to call a chiropractor that was the closest to my house. I called and talked to Brenda, she gave me the rundown with prices and what they do. I said, "Sing me up!". So, today was the day. Brenda gave me the 'okay' to bring Silas since I was basically heading to the chiropractor straight from music class where we don't talk words, but we sing them :)
The baby fell asleep the last two minutes of class and I thought, Perfect! I will bring him with me to the chiro and he'll sleep the whole time. He did stay asleep in the car and to me he looked unconscious to the point where I could blast the Hello song and he wouldn't move. Which I probably could have, but the minute we walked in the door to the chiropractor's he was wide eyed and somewhere in between confused, hot and sweaty.
Let me tell you something about hot and sweaty. This office was hot and sweaty, I was hot and sweaty and so was Silas. No wonder he woke up! His little/big cheeks were bright red and I can't imagine sitting in that car seat is cool and refreshing.
He did fine until they made me put on a gown and take x-rays of my messed up back. As soon as the not-so-modest-open-back gown was put on Silas decided he wasn't a fan of the gown, or the office, or the heat or ANYTHING. I get the x-rays done and the fussing began. As Dr. Dennis was printing out my results I was making Silas a bottle in my not-so-modest gown trying to keep the little Velcro pieces together that are behind my neck so Dr. Dennis doesn't get more than he bargained for. I'm an literally sweating, meaning I can feel the beads drip down my stomach and sides and I can feel the moisture building up on my forehead. As I put the formula in the bottle in the hot, little x-ray room with a screaming baby who is red from heat and frustration the words, Are you kidding me? are running through my head over, and over, and over. I asked Dr Dennis to grab the blanked out of the diaper bag (which was under my shirt and bra, mind you) and then I prop the bottle with the blanket to ease the tired, hungry and hot baby. And for the record, I don't usually prop his bottle and I would still be nursing if my girls didn't fail me.....so please don't judge me!! :)
Despite the dramatic first visit to the chiropractor, I am very excited to get my back fixed. And I may even have Silas get treated for his reflux problems. Dr. Dennis says he can get Silas off his reflux meds (which make him constipated anyway). Turns out if the spine is adjusted properly you should be virtually problem free (assuming you eat properly and exercise regularly) If only chiropractic work could someone motivate me to do housework....
and ps 4month stats: weight 16lbs (75%), height 26.5 inches (95%!)

Just your description of that sweaty office is enough to make sweat beads form on my forehead!! Poor little Silas! Glad to hear you both survived the semi-traumatic event ;)
