" You nuggle you" and replace the word nuggle with, rock, lay-with, cover, hold or help. Meaning, will you snuggle me?
"Daddy 'pin you" Daddy spin you.
"Weeeee Hoooooome" We're home.
"Goood Moooorrrrning" she says this most mornings or after nap
"I woke up." If she gets out of bed after we put her to bed
"I ont wike it" I don't like it, usually pertaining to food
"I'm hungwee" I'm hungry
"Where Sy Sy go?" Where did Sy Sy go?
"Right back" I'll be right back.
She sings Ring Around the Rose off and on all day and some times she'll sit and repeat "The Rosie, The Rosie, The Rosie..." and then it turns into "The Weasel, The Weasel" So I wonder if they sing Pop Goes the Weasel at school? She also likes Happy Birthday, Twinkle Twinkle, Row Row Row Your Boat, and ABCD (as Veda calls it)
I have some super funny videos of the kids, but can't figure out how to upload them onto my computer from Joe's phone. That's how hip I am!
The kids play Hid n Seek with Joe most days and Veda is always the partner of the counter. We have some session on video, but remember, I can't figure out the phone video thing.
She has a limited diet which consists of: fruit, peanut butter (peenabunner), tortellini (sometimes), meatless chicken nuggets, ketchup, squeezers, veggie straws, Z bars, water, toddler formula and water downed juice.
Her naps are improving and I'm usually guaranteed at least an hour and a half, sometimes as much as three hours. She gets up once a night and we've tired everything to change that. Everything. I have just come to terms with the reality of it all and now that I have accepted that my two year old doesn't sleep through the night it's not as bad.
She's in a bed because she was crawling out of her crib numerous times at night and unable to get back in. We figured in a bed she at least is able to get back in. And out. And in and out!
She is a feisty little fire ball who is twice as aggressive as her older brother. Although, her teachers at school have nothing but sweet reports about her. She definitely knows her crowd. Which makes me feel a little better in knowing that there is some self control in there underneath those wild white curls.
She is, too, sweet at home. She is compassionate to Silas if he is upset (usually) and is full of tackle bear hugs and endless kisses.
Loves to be held at the most inopportune times: While I'm cooking (stop laughing, I do cook now and again), doing the dishes, hauling laundry up and down the stairs, in the laundry room, and so on and so forth.
She hates the vacuum, blender and salad chopper. She starts to wince if she sees me take them out.
And she's my book smart babe who knows letters, colors and how to count. I give a big thanks to Super Why for the aid in teaching these things :)
This is her "Mom, lookit!!" face
She is the instigator. Silas will be happily jumping on the mattress we have in the guest/play room. She'll join in but she'll climb on the chair or the toy kitchen and jump down onto the mattress. Silas will see the excitement in it all and the rest is history!
And sometimes I get nervous that I might accidentally eat her because she is so scrumptious with those loose curls. Someone stop the clock!
I hosted a little, low-stress quasi kitty cat themed party for Veda. Immediate family and church family came open house style and we baked (burned!) Pappa Murphy's pizza and inhaled the adorable cupcakes (c/o a friend of a friend who is starting a bakery. If you are from these parts and want her info, let me know--she's pretty amazing!)
Silas sat patiently by the cupcakes just waiting for my You Can Eat One Que.
The vision was to have Veda wear these cute cat ears in support of the whole kitty cat theme. This was the best we got!
But...
It all worked out because a number of the party guests did end up wearing the ears.
We all sang, she blew out candles...twice! She looks unsure of it all, but she really did have fun.
Opening of gifts. The push button books were a fave.
The after party. All the new stuffed animals and blankets got tested out. Silas currently sleeps with the Hello Kitty blanket and that huge elephant gets fought over at least twice a day.
And Grandma Laura got her a doll with matching jammies. Stop the cuteness!

Her hair is getting so long and big-girlish! Especially in the picture of her opening presents. What a big girl! Happy birthday Veda!
