Chooo Chooo

We have jumped on the potty train! Silas is sporting his new undies as he rides his bike in the basement. We dove in head first on Monday and things are going pretty well. We have a few accidents a day and I think he is just willing himself not to poop, but overall he is catching on and doing really well.

I will say it's exhausting. Taking him to the toilet every hour or cleaning up a puddle of pee and doing more loads of laundry has taken a tole. And then add a Veda in there who has to be RIGHT THERE all the time. In the bathroom she stands as Silas goes potty, she wants to flush the toilet, too. Slipping in the puddle of pee as I go get rags to clean it up. But totally worth it to only have one kid in diapers!

I have him in undies when we're at home and if we are going to someone else's house for a playdate or to a play area I will put in him a pull up. We were at Eagle's Nest this morning for about two hours and Silas came home with a dry pull up. That's a pretty big deal!!

Oh, and I've tried to teach him how to pee standing up, but I think I am going to leave that one for Joe because the kid doesn't know how to aim!

I vote just teach him to pee sitting down! I've told Brad I was gonna do this with our boys, because if dad can't even be bothered to aim, then there's no hope for the little ones. Ugh. Why do men have to stand anyway?

So true, Betsy! Even sitting down he sometimes misses...
