I know, I can't believe it either!!!! Sporting his classic marker on the face look (you should see his left hand. It's completely green! And he is currently napping in his swimsuit, his choice!) This almost-three-year-old is officially signed up for pre-school! It is bitter sweet. But mostly sweet. I am super excited for him. I think he will really blossom in the pre-school setting. He does well with structure and predictability (as most kids do...). And he totally lights up when he gets to play with kids his own age. I mean, Veda and I are pretty cool, but Veda's imagination hasn't quite developed yet and mine is long gone!
We toured his future room and he fell in love. The teacher let him participate in class for about twenty minutes. He enjoyed the last few minutes of singing and dancing in a circle with the other kids (with is blankie in had, of course!) He was a little confused on the whole lining up to wash hands thing, but he caught on fast. And I quickly realized there are things I can't teach him at home like...how to line up! I assisted his hand washing and then he sat nicely at the half-circle table for a snack.
One little girl announced that she was four. The teacher asked Silas how old he was and he too said he was four. When I told Joe this cute fact his response was, "Funny because when Silas counts he often omits the number four."
The director briefly went over the handbook with me. We talked about health records and deposit fees. And as we drove home Silas said, "I wanna go to pre-school!" I smiled and was so excited that he was excited. And I also officially decided the he can stay this age forever because it's so much fun!
