Adventures

Saturday we took the kids to a water park. Last summer Veda would scream when we put her life jacket on; now that she has a neck and can stand she embraced it quite well.

Overall the water park was fun, but if I'm being honest I'd have to say that my expectations where way too high. Two babies at a water amusement park...I should have know better. The actual swimming was great, it was the hauling around of the 4 bags, two life jackets and two kids. The changing and diapering. The locker finding and picture taking. Those were the tough parts! Mos def worth it, though.

And today we took Silas skating. Sundays are big days as it is and of course this Sunday he didn't nap. Then trying to introduce a fun, yet cold and difficult sport to a two year old wasn't our smartest move as parents. But a promise is a promise and we told him he could go skating today.
My dad and Joe shoveled off a little patch on the pond.

And this is kind of the whole tone of the skating event. Poor Silas just wasn't having it.

Dad got him a little interested as he skated with him between his legs.

Likin' it...likin' it!

Is that a smile?

And one 'vintage' look for the record books.

It definitely took us longer to get him ready to skate than he actually skated. Aw well, there is always next time....when he is fully rested. He kept on crying and asking to watch 'a little tee wee?'

Veda, on the other hand, desperately wanted to join in on the fun but was stuck behind the gate with Grandma. Next year, baby girl, next year!
