Is it Friday yet?

Today was day number two of a high fever for Veda and so I took her in to be checked out.  I took Silas with me crossing my fingers the chaos wouldn't be too out of control.

Silas managed to color all over the Dr's chair, bonk his chin and chest on the exam table while trying to climb on it, litter the room with his boots, hat, jacket and blankie and bang on everything (really hard) with the reflex hammer.  Veda was screaming most of the time so there was little I could do besides an empty threat, a snap of the fingers and an angry mom stare down.

We were there for an hour (an hour!) while they took Veda's blood and urine samples. And I'm glad the samples were taken because it revealed that the  baby has a bladder infection.

Poor Veda has been up most of the night both last night and the night before and she refused to be held by anyone but me (the swing or bouncy seat won't even do)  So that means I literally held Veda all day yesterday; I went to the bathroom with her on my lap and managed to make lunch one handed.

And days like these are the days that I have to remind myself that children are a blessing and I am blessed to not only have overall healthy children but be able to afford Dr appointments and medicine, food and clothing, warmth and of course Elmo on repeat!

And while leaving the Dr's office I may or may not have sent my husband a text that said something to the effect of me making an appointment to get my tubes tied.

Oh how I kid.  Sort of.

Poor Veda!! Bladder infections are the WORST. I can't imagine being in that pain and not being able to tell anyone :( Hopefully she is feeling better ASAP!
