He Knows What He Wants

He will push the electronic button on this chair to make it recline, climb in the chair with his blanket, get cozy and request the "Tee Dee".  How can I say no to that?

He will bring me whatever shoe combination he desires and say, "Beeez" and lift his feet.  Sometimes the shoes match, sometimes they don't.  This picture is a few months old and now he is really into "Booz" aka Boots.  Cowboy boots, winter boots, rain boots. He loves them! He wore his cowboy boots all weekend (church, playing outside, walking around the house (they click when he walks and he loves it) ) to the point where when it was time for bed we had to take them off while putting on his jammies, distract him with something exciting and hide the boots...or else he would've slept in them!

And of course the infamous tie-dye 'shorts'.  (And one sock!).  The story behind the sock: I hate socks so I assume my son does too.  But, now that it's getting colder Joe insists that I put him to bed with socks on because his feet will get cold. (Sleeping with socks is probably the grossest thing I can imagine!)  I think Silas is a boy after my own heart and also hates sleeping in socks because he usually wakes up with no socks or one sock on.

Hats are another new craze.  He requested taking a nap with his baseball hat on over the weekend.  And when we get ready to go outside I say, "Where is your hat?" he puts his hands on his head and says, "Hat?  Hat?" until we find one for him to wear.

He also is really particular about how is blankets are situation when we rock him to sleep.  One has to be by his face, preferably over his head, and one has to be completely covering his feet; like wrapped tight under his feet.  At first I couldn't figure out what he wanted me to do with his blankies--he was clearly frustrated with how they were situation. But now that I know we just add it to our routine :-)

All of these cute endearing things that this age brings totally make up for the tantrums!
