Sir Blanket

So I've been slacking on the blog end of things lately.  I've been slacking on a lot of things, actually.  I just want to give a shout out to my amazingly servant-hearted husband who has been taking care of 80% of the chores that I have been slacking on and not minding the other 20% being only half done most of the time.  One more week of the first trimester and here's to us all hoping that my energy returns promptly!

I also wanted to give a shout out to Sir Blanket...who seems to make life a little easier around here.

The last month or so Silas has really become attached to his Blankie.  The Blankie.  Before this he love to rub the corner of a blanket on his face as I would rock him to sleep...any blanket would do.  I kind of promoted this certain blanket because it's a good size and weight; easy to wash, fold, travel with and big enough to cover his whole body AND complete with a pattern clearly from 1979. Joe would tease me because I would always make sure Silas had his special blankie even if he didn't care what blanket he had in his hand. Well, now he cares, and it's so darned cute! I guess all my promoting paid off.

If he's fussy I'll find Sir Blanket, drape it over my shoulder and then pick Silas up. Silas gets one look at the blankie and nuzzles his head right in it, grabs one of the corners and with a glazed look in his eye rubs in on his face.

We had temporally misplace Sir Blanket one evening so any old blanket had to do.  Silas made due, but he wasn't as relaxed or excited about snuggling up with that silly yellow blanket.  We found Sir Blanket the following afternoon (just in time for nap) and Silas hugged and snuggled up to it like it was an old friend he hadn't seen in a long, long time.

I have a feeling this 1979 pattern will be in our lives for a while.  Thanks Auntie Gwennie!
