Birthday Boy

Last Saturday we threw a little birthday party for Silas with our families.  First I thought it would be cute to make a caterpillar cake out of cupcakes.  Then I realized that would be way over my head.  Then someone told me that I could get a free First Birthday cake at Kowalski's and I got excited.  We went to Kowalski's the morning of the party and soon found out that we needed to preorder.  That lead us to Cub, and this is the cute cake we picked out for Silas.
I gave my camera to Ben and he took a bunch of photos like this one.  I love these photos because in every one everyone looks so genuinely excited, it's so sweet.
We sang Happy Birthday to Silas twice.  By the second time around he finally got into it.  The first time (as you can see on the video from the previous post) he wasn't into even sitting on my lap let alone the cake and candles.  If he only knew that cake was a once a year thing!
And he ate it.  He liked it, but as you can see wasn't super thrilled!
Most of the party looked like this. Sydnee desperately wanting to hold Silas and Silas desperately trying to not be held.

The hat! Joe's parents went to Vancouver to watch some of the Olympics and came home with this hat for Silas.  He actually enjoys wearing it.

Here is the big boy in his shark hat sitting in his car seat facing forward! I  love that I can look through the rearview mirror and see his face now.

Because I can't seem to get enough of this sweet chunky face!

The morning after the party.  Silas sitting in the midst of all of his toys with is ankles crossed watching cartoons. Classic!

Happy Birthday, Silas! Brook was coloring yesterday and kept saying "happy birthday silas!" (remembering how she colored his card last week). :)
