Joe surprised me with the gift of his presence. He took Friday off of work!! The first time, um, ever! The best part was that he did truly surprise me. He had been talking about the "little" (don't get your hopes up) surprise that was going to happen for me on Friday. I figured it was a haircut. Often times Joe will come home with a haircut and call before hand saying that he has a surprise for me. Snip snip, a haircut it was....in my head.
Friday morning rolled around and we heard Silas fussing in the monitor at 6am. Joe popped out of bed saying, "I'll go get the bottle." I was really confused. Who are you and what did you do with my husband!!? We all know it takes Joe 5 snoozes to wake up; and make the bottle? What is going on? I just went with it thinking that Joe will get the baby and the bottle and bring them to me. That's a great surprise in and of itself.
Next thing I know, the sun is up and still no baby or bottle in bed with me. I laid in bed for a bit taking it all in before I made my way downstairs.
It was already planned for Joe's mom to come over for a few hours so I could run errands. Jean came over at 11:30am...I went shopping and Joe went to the gym and then we met up for lunch BY OURSELVES! Lovely.
I'd say my favorite Valentines Day celebration thus far. Nice work, Joe Joe!
