1 Cor. 14:1

I can't get him to sit still. Ever. And with that, our next child will have a first or middle name that means "Calm" or " Peaceful" or "Mild" or something like that...in hopes of a calmer child. Seriously!

I got this idea from the Re:fresh Design Studio blog. The designer is a good friend of mine as well. I picked up the plywood at Home Depot for under $6 and they cut it down to size for me. I am planning on using the remaining plywood for a different project. I purchased the stencils at Michaels. I painted the plywood with some left over paint that was left under the stairs when we bought the house. I then spray painted on the lettering. As you can see the spray paint sprayed beyond the stenciling a little bit. I didn't plan for that to happen, but I think it looks kind of cool! And the lettering isn't perfect, and since I would not consider myself a perfectionist I think it gives it some character.
I literally nailed the plywood to my wall. I'm planning on putting "1 Cor. 14:1" on the bottom right corner of the sign. It was a fun and super cheap way to fill up wall space in creative and personal way.
When we first bought the house be purchased some furniture at Ethan Allen, and when the furniture arrived they send out a complimentary interior designer to help arrange things and to also try to sell us other ridiculously expensive accessories for the house. Ginger came and helped arrange and some of the ridiculously expensive accessories she was trying to sell were painting and pictures for our walls. I know, a year and half later our walls are still pretty bare, but I just can't seem to bring myself to spend real money on a painting or picture that I don't absolutely love. But, now that I have discovered cheap ways to decorate my walls that have some meaning, our house is finally coming together. And by coming together I mean I put a collage of pictures on our stairway wall and now the bedroom art. That's it. But really, little things can go a long way. And because they're so inexpensive I won't feel bad if I don't like them a year later.

Cheers to our house smelling like spray paint!
