Tummy Night Time

For the past few weeks Silas has insisted on sleeping on his stomach. We lay him (as he's asleep) on his back or side and tuck him in snug with a blanket and sleep positioner and he immediately flips to his stomach. I have learned to not worry about it, but at first it bothered me because he doesn't sleep on his stomach like most babies do, he buries his head in his hands and the mattress and it looks like this:
We have a breath detector so I know that if he did stop breathing an alarm would sound, but I didn't want it to get to that point, so I was in his room at night constantly flipping him back over.

After realizing that I get zero sleep by doing that I just let him do what he does and realize that he is old enough and strong enough to pop his head up if he can't breathe. Sometimes he'll turn his head to one side or the other, but most of the time it's buried in the mattress. I think it looks hilarious!

I wonder if his obsession with having his face covered has any significance. Like, will he like sleeping with this head under the covers when he's older? Or is he just shy? Or maybe a lot of kids do this...? Whatever the case, I think it's cute!
