Two and a Half

She talks a lot about her kitty cat party that we had for her...six months ago! She will often say, "For me?" as she pushes her hand on her chest.

She keeps close tabs on Silas and Joe.

She needs a nap daily, but sometimes refuses. And Veda is the perfect example of 'sleep begets sleep'. I'm telling ya, if she falls behind in her sleep for whatever reason it's no fun for anyone. Tantrum city to the point where she doesn't know why she's upset anymore.

Veda is very affectionate and is always willing to give a hug or snuggle. But just as much loves to run far and fast from any authority calling her name. Especially the lady who birthed her!

Whenever she has to have a time-out it's usually because she hit Silas or she screamed so loud it puts Silas in tears. A fiesty little one she is.

She is basically potty trained. Some days she goes potty by herself when she needs to without telling me (I just end up hearing her in there, or she'll run out saying I WENT POTTY!), other days she'll have a few accidents if I don't reminder her to go potty. And she won't poo it the pot...so we are still perfecting it!

She is particular about her clothes. And, of course, doesn't want to wear the cute ones. Any fabric other than cotton and she'll refuse, and tank tops are hit or miss. Her go-to outfit is her Hello Kitty shirt and any pair of leggings. As for her (amazing) hair, she is pretty good about letting me comb and style it...which I don't do to often anyway.

She plays well with Silas, when they're playing together (she isn't so sweet to him when he is playing nicely by himself). The kids will play 'Mom and Dad' or 'Teacher' sometimes. They often carry around their stuffed animals and pretend to be taking care of them. They make forts (or in my mind, big messes!!) and sometime just like to run from room to room with some adventure in mind.

Riding bikes is a big thing this summer. Along with the park, swinging in the back yard and looking for ants.

I've always loved the feeling of Veda's hands. It sounds weird, but I vividly remember reaching back to a fussy baby while driving my car and feeling her hands reach mine. I loved how warm and soft they were. There was just a special feeling in it, and it would always make me smile. Two and a half years later her hands still feel the same when they touch mine and I just can't explain it. They are always warm and soft with just enough chub to make them squeezeable. But that face, that face is what slays me everyday!
