The kids went skiing the other day. Silas had a pile of his blankets at the bottom of the stairs and both kids were at the top standing in their skis. I didn't get my phone in time for a good picture, but it looks like I caught one ski going down the hill. I was nervous that they thought they could really ski down the stairs!
And look who fell asleep after a shower. I am telling you, this kid and his weird sleeping places.
One afternoon Silas was antsy and so I gave him a stack of paper cups to play with. Who needs toys when you have paper cups!! They entertained him for hours. And then he proceeded to take them everywhere with him. They came on many car trips and ended up sleeping next to him at night. Here is a picture of the bathroom when I walked in. Each cup is filled with water and the cups also line the tub. Joe and I were cracking up. I remember Silas tinkering in the bathroom while I was putting clothes away, but he was happy and quiet so I let him be.
The kids (mainly Silas, but Veda will do the same just to keep up) are into hoarding. Hoarding blocks and putting them all in a bag (pictured). Or they will make a game out of hoarding all their toys in one spot, like behind the couch, or in the couch. Half of me doesn't care because they're productively playing, but the other half of me can't stand it because guess who is left helping the kids clean up and reorganizing all the blocks, legos and lincoln logs? The sound of a bucket of blocks or Legos being dumped on the floor is like nails on the chalkboard!!
The basement is coming along. Getting so, so close to the fun part. A few more days of mudding (is that what you call it?) and drying then we can proceed with the decor. I don't know what we're going to do exactly, but I'm excited to do it! And I am super excited to have a designated play/toy area in the basement. Fun for them and for me! The carpenter spent a chunk of time at our house yesterday going through my Fix It list. Feels good to get things taken care of around here and it amazes me how one person can know how to fix everything?!?
Now we are just waiting for the snow to melt!
