love these two |
no family photo, so we did a selfie to document our faces as well |
The grandkids that are in town. Great ages, the olders help the youngers and the adults got to relax. |
The best Easter celebration I can remember! The weather was beautiful and the kids were everything sweet. I was bound and determined to pick out their outfits without a battle on Easter. I usually let them wear what they want for every day stuff (within reason), but I got this adorable dress for Veda (Zulily, I love you!) and wanted to make sure it made an appearance on Easter. And was determined to also have her hair look like something other than a frizzy mess. I also didn't want to have another holiday with Silas in a Superman shirt. So days before Easter we talked about wearing our fancy clothes and how exciting it will be. It worked! They willingly wore what I chose for them and Silas even added the neck tie. It's for toddlers, but he insisted and so we just went with it. I told Veda she could wear sparkles (I have glitter lotion) and some makeup if I could do her hair. She was all about it! Doing Silas' hair was more of a challenge, but he complied. And now I have this adorbs picture of the two of them on Easter Sunday.
It was a packed day and to be honest I was dreading it. Too much stuff to do for this pregnant lady. But I surprised myself and actually not only survived, but had a good time doing it. Pastor Greg hit a home run with the sermon, not a dry eye at church. Brunch was delish with my family. And the little Easter egg hunt Joe orchestrated in our back yard was a hit with the kids (of course, they hunted in their undies!), and then dinner with the in-laws was great as well. A great way to celebrate the Resurrection!
He is risen, y'all!
