Last week I hauled the kids to Mpls to take some maternity photos. Joe met me there and put on his game face to humor me for a little session.
The pictures turned out pretty cute.
I am still measuring a week and a half ahead. But the midwife says that it's probably the angle of my uterus and not to worry. At least baby is growing, right?
The look on my face is goofy, but I had to post this because the kids faces crack me up! |
Everything else is going great. The usual complaints: random nausea, heartburn, hard time getting comfortable and fatigue. But overall I'm staying positive. And even though this is a long and cold winter, it does not seeming as much of a drag as I thought it would. Maybe it's because I am realizing how fast time goes (my first born is almost FIVE) and I'm trying to soak up every second with my kids while they are the ages they are and not wish time away (even if that time is cold and dark!), or if pregnancy is emitting a happy hormone in me. Whatever the case, I like it!
Wonder if lightroom will let me fix my hair somehow. Yikes! |
Baby is still head down (booya!) and is busy as ever. I feel like he is most active around 11pm. I lay down and he has a dance party. It's a neat feeling and it's hard to be concerned when baby is moving around, so I enjoy his busy times. But it makes me a little nervous that his busy time is so late. I hope he isn't going to want to have a dance party in the middle of the night when he is on the other side of my body!
I feel like I am continually nesting on a weekly, if not daily basis. Cleaning, organizing, preparing. I am itching for a hint of spring so I can justify getting the carpets and windows cleaned!
oh Silas, what a goof! |
I'm feeling hiccups from the little guy. Super fun. But I feel like they are so random. He'll have two hiccups and then be done and other times he'll hiccup for a while. I was worried he was having seazures in there at first, until I realized what was happening!
The kids are getting real excited to have a brother. Silas especially is surprising me with his excitement. He talks about his brother with such enthusiasm and whenever go we go Target he asks if we can get something for his brother. It's very sweet. Veda is mostly into smothering my stomach. I think it's a sign of what's to come :) And she will talk baby talk, which cracks me up, because to me she is still a baby. I can't wait to see how baby boy will change the dynamic of our family.
I have one green eyed kid and one blue eyed kid. Wonder what this next one will be. I'm rooting for brown, just for variety sake.
Not very flattering of me, again, but Veda's face is classic! |
