First Day

Well we did it. We all made it to where we needed to be on time. Praise God and Hallelujah! If I am being honest, it was a rough morning. We put the kids to bed early the night before, but they must've felt the nerves because Veda got up at some point in the middle of the night and insisted on sleeping with us (horizontally) and Silas got out of his room at 10pm hungry. So he for sure wasn't sleeping until 10:30 or so.

Getting out the door with decent clothes, combed hair and food in their bellies by 8 am is not easy. I know I'm not the only one who has done this (or has to do it daily) so I give props to all you alls out there who pull it off everyday.

Silas was so sad to have to wake up. He just wanted to go back to sleep. And he is a deep sleeper so I had to physically get him dressed and haul him downstairs. He kept on wanting to curl up in his blanket and go back to sleep. It was making me both sad and frustrated.

Veda woke up fine, but following directions is not her strongest suit. "Take off your jammies please." x 100!!

And we were out of food so they had to settle for a granola bar for breakfast and all Silas wanted was an orange and all Veda wanted was cereal.

But I somehow managed to snap some photos of them where they look happy and excited.

And then it continues because no matter how hard I try to keep Silas from taking a nap (so he goes to bed early) he puts himself to sleep later in the afternoon and is then up late at night and it's the rough morning all over again.

I might homeschool just so mornings aren't so hectic!
