I am going to preface this post with an acknowledgement that the following situation is a first world problem, I totally get that. But, a problem none the less.

So today was the big day. Our counter tops and carpet was to get installed. The guys came bright and early and got working right away.

I had to leave for a quick errand and when I came home I walked downstairs to see the progress.

My heart sank as I realized they installed the wrong counter tops. ALL WRONG! I mean, it's not like they're bubble gum pink, but I don't like them. They give me an icky feeling. The wet bar and the bathroom are wrong.

I know.

You can pick your chin up off the keyboard now.

I called Joe, I called our ordering lady, I call the designer. It wasn't pretty.

Emails, pictures, phone calls. It was a messy afternoon.

All while Veda is running outside asking to ride her bike and Silas is in his room asking me to lay with him. And they know when everything else fails on getting my attention they can tell me their hungry and I'll feed them. So they did that, too, even thought they weren't even hungry. I will say I hand it to moms that work from home without a nanny. My head was spinning.

Anyway, what do we do, you ask?

Joe handed the baton over to me after he realized that he was too angry to handle anything in a mature way. I'm glad he could see that, because anger does no body any good.

I was able to do some research and found an email sent to us by our designer stating all of our products that we picked out in which it included the counter tops as White River and not Ugly Putty. As stinky as it is for him to have that on his shoulders, it did relieve me to know that this mistaken wasn't on us.

Because, yeah, that would be not good. Would we change it? Would we fork over more money (I can't imagine that)? Do we leave it (can't imagine that either!).

The ordering lady was at a stand still as she said, "Wow, this has never happened before."

Awesome.

Anyway, everyone is alive and well and in due time I'm sure things will get worked out to where we are happy. But in the mean time, here is a picture of the WRONG counter tops.

The correct piece of stone is the little sample in the corner.

Just sayin'.
