Our week in Clearwater, Florida was pretty much heaven. Sunny, sandy and the sound of waves. The kids did amazing (minus bed time. That was drama!) and I've concluded life on the beach is so easy. Even when you're living in a 800 square foot condo with seven adults and four kids. The kids mix real well with sand and ocean, meaning they entertain themselves wonderfully, and the adults mixed real well with our feet in the sand.
Silas is counting shells.
The water was freezing, but the kids didn't seem to mind.
Veda playing with the sand in a beach bag. Love her!
Elise's cousin, Isabelle, came to help with the kids during the convention. She was a dream. The kids loved her and she was full of fun-loving energy!
Me and my girl. Pretty sure I have the same picture from last her, but Veda is about a foot taller and has more hair!
My face is still swollen here. My poor lip and nose!
She manages to get naked no matter what I do. She didn't care for the sand in her crack so her naked boogie board rides were only for a limited time. But it was so cute I had to take a picture!
My favorite photo of the trip. This is a classic wedding slideshow photo!
Late afternoon splash. I love how the sun hits the water and the beach at this hour.
My sweetest boy!
The dads did some relay races with the kids!
Harry the Heron, he hung out on the beach looking for food and making friends.
Love the photo!
Unless someone was in the condo reading or working my kids napped on the beach. I am so thankful they were up for it. Joe had Veda sleeping in his lap the day before. And Silas curled up and napped in my lap at least three days.
The Mommas. Elise, myself and Deb. I met Deb last year, she became good friends with Elise since they stay in the same condo complex. Deb is from Milwaukee but spends the winters in Florida with her three kids as her husband works one week on, one week off as an ER Dr. He comes every other week. Pretty sweet gig! And Deb might just be the nicest person I've ever met!
The best family photo we got!
Veda greeting Daddy after his run.
Silas and Maya playing in the sand. Silas would spend hours playing with a plastic boat or running with the boogie board. Here Maya is joining him in the fun.
And once again we celebrated Maya's birthday in Florida. We had dinner at Bubba Gump's and then ice cream at the Candy Kitchen.
Maya and her big sis Avery.
The whole crew
The last morning of our stay and we tried to get a family photo on the beach. Silas was too distraught knowing that we were going home to pull it together for a photo. Here I am trying to console him as he cries in the shade. Poor guy, I felt the same way!
And a big shout to Joe and Elise for letting us invade our living space for eight days. Can't wait until next year :)
