We went swimming in October and now 80 in March, rock on!
We have been outside nonstop and that means we've also been having to wash our hands and feet when we come inside. And sometimes the hands and feet washing turns into a bath in the sink.
Last week Silas went fishing in his wagon with his winter gloves on. No wait, that would be one adult winter glove and one child winter mitten. He slept in his sandals last night (a battle I didn't care to fight) and is napping in them right now. I laid a blanket down under him since he naps in my bed. Sandals in bed....almost as gross as sleeping with socks on! :)
And because I know you all are wondering.....the potty training is going well. I got struck with some stomach bug so I put him in diapers for a day and a half while I was hunched over with nausea and also while Joe's mom came to my rescue and helped with the kids. I was worried that I was reversing all the hard potty training work I had done by putting him back in diapers, but he remembered how to hold it and was glad to slip into his little boxer briefs once I was able to hold down food.
At church on Sunday I put him in undies for Sunday School and slapped the 'I'm Potty Training' sticker on his back figuring we had to brave it and do this at some point. He stayed dry, but had to go right after church. I had yet to get him to go potty anywhere but home so I put Joe on potty duty. Silas came out of the bathroom announcing that he had gone pee...I gave him a high five and I asked Joe how he managed to get him to pee in a public bathroom. Joe told me that he had Silas stand on the edge of the toilet and pee in. I would have never thought of that!! Boys and pee....a whole new world!
After Silas peed while standing on the toilet we headed to Como Park with our small group and did what people do on nice days in Minnesota...chased the kids around the lawn and played a little bean bag. Here are Cory and Joe playing some Bean Bag Toss while holding their babies. Steve was on the other side holding his 3 month old boy so the teams were fair!
Weeee! And there goes Veda. She is a little daredevil. I lifted her to the top of the slide and she dove in head first.
Should be a really fun summer!!
