Friday morning I got dressed and took the kids with me to run some errands. We came home, played, ate and took naps. Joe came home around 6pm and as he walked in the door I was in my closet grabbing clothes for our family overnight at his parents' place on the River. As I was in my closet I noticed that the covering to the attic was tilted up. I stared at it for a few seconds and then called Joe up. We both looked at it and then looked at each other with raised brows.
He grabbed a latter and flashlight and took a look up there. I was seriously standing by the foot of the latter waiting to hear gun shots. The plywood that sits as a door to the attic is too heavy for wind to hoist it up. For sure someone got into our house while I was running errands and as they heard me come home they scrambled up to the attic. The reason the plywood was tilted up was because they knew if they shut it all the way they wouldn't be able to get back out. I had it figured out.
We packed up and headed out despite the creepness. Went out to dinner with the in-laws and then watched some TV after the kids went to bed. I couldn't stop thinking about the creepy attic situation. I was thinking of scenarios and could not come up with any other explanation other than a person in our attic
We came home today and to creep me out more our garage door was open! It been open all night and all day today. Joe scanned the house and whoever may have gotten in our attic surely wasn't into stealing anything. Everything was where we left it, so that's good. But I'm still creeped out.
The only thing that is keeping me from calling the cops is my dad telling me that it could've been the wind. I don't know if I buy it but for some reason my dad's word seem valid enough for me.
But the saga continues.....
Last night Joe and I were watching a movie and all of a sudden at 11pm the power went out. All of it. Pitch black. Dead silent. I freaked because for sure someone was out to get us.
Thankfully Joe's phone was charged up and has a sweet flashlight on it because all of our flashlights were out of batteries and we were out of batteries. (That fact pissed Joe off more than the actual loss of power!)
I was bascially a leach on Joe as we walked downstairs to check things out.
We eventually noticed that our whole street was out of power and then called Excel Energy. No storm, no wind, just no power.
It came back on around midnight and then went out again around 6am. I got up at 7:30am and took a shower before church. Right as I was about to rinse out the conditioner out of my hair the water shut off. Funny April Fools joke, huh?
We have well water so I'm assuming the power outage had some effected on the water pump and thus no water?? Anyway, my hair survived and we came home from church with power and running water!
Let's hope this is the end of the creeps around here.
