Chalk-top table

Here is the project my dad helped me on the other day. He came over and made the benches. I painted them along with the coffee table, and put chalkboard paint on the top of the table. 

I obviously stole the idea from Pinterest. I thought it would be perfect for the kids and if we ever finish our basement it would work great for a toy room/area. 

We happened to have two old coffee tables sitting in our basement waiting to be used. 

I had leftover paint so I put a chalkboard square above my stove. The bottom right corner got a bit messed up, so I am toying with the idea of maybe pounding a wooden frame around the square to hide the mishap. Most likely it will just stay this way forever, but it's fun to pretend I'm a perfectionist!

Maybe this will inspire me to cook more often....I can advertise what's for dinner on the chalkboard!
