This one crept up on me and that's why I'm a day late!
Her days consists of two naps a day. One morning nap and one afternoon nap. If it's a good day she'll sleep a 1.5 to 2 hours each nap. But I take what I can get!
She eats three meals a day plus some snacks and bottles. She prefers to feed herself, but manages to let me spoon feed her every now and again. She eats most foods presented to her bananas being her current fave.
Compliments of being a mobile baby Veda is a huge wiggle worm. Diaper changes, clothes changes, getting socks and shoes on, all are a battle!
Believe it or not she is consistently going to bed before 9pm. Hallelujah!! She gets up earlier, but it gives Joe and me some down time in the evenings which is really nice.
Her current tricks include:
WALKING! Veda takes about 7 steps a 'session' before she topples over and her hands hit the ground. She walks like an old man; butt out, back tipped forward. Adorbs!
Saying, "Uh oh". Both when we say it she will repeat us and also when someone drops something; which is really cute. She also says, "Wow!" It's more like, "Waaaaooow!" and she will repeat us if we say it to her. I was convinced for about a day that she was saying "Mama" and understanding that that word is associated with me. But now I'm not so sure she gets the association.
Kissing. Slobber style!

Veda adores her big brother. He will do something 'funny' and she will crack up. If Joe or I try to do that same thing she just gives us a blank stare. It's like she knows Silas is a kid and that he is worth laughing with.
She has one more tooth about to completely break the surface. This makes 5 teeth total. I am envious of the parents that say, "I just looked in my baby's mouth and there were a bunch of teeth." Like they had no idea he/she was teething. Not the case over here!
Every month things are more predictable and for that I am so thankful. I remember right after Veda was born I grieved my old life. I was so in love with Veda and was so glad she was here, but at the same time I missed the old routines with just me and Silas. I missed having him be my little buddy. And all of the hormones didn't help the transition either. With that being said, I feel like my new routine is fantastic. I love watching Silas and Veda play together. I enjoy the quality time I get with both of them alone and I feel like they are both my little buddies. I knew this time would come and the rational side of me postpartum knew that as well, but the irrational side feared that the new normal would never feel as good as the old normal. High fives all around for the current normal. It is working well for all of us!!
Also, Veda is just a few months away from the totally shaggy hair look. It' pretty inevitable with little girls, so hair-bows here we come!
