In honor of our anniversary Joe and I booked a night at the River Road Inn in Stockholm, Wisconsin. It's an adorable B&B on Lake Pepin/the St Croix River. The photos online didn't do justice--this place was fantastic!
Here we are at one of the many Scenic Overlooks on the way. The drive down was so breathtaking; the leaves were brilliant and the constant view of the river was so amazing.

We told them when we'd like breakfast delivered and it came in this basket right outside our door. And it was delicious!

We were only gone one night, but it was so refreshing. We got to sleep in---together! And although we missed Silas and talked about him way too much, we really enjoyed being 'off duty' for over 24 hours--together!

We moseyed around Stockholm and Pepin looking at the shops and walking the pier. We even decided to check out some model homes on the way home because it is so easy to do things like that without a kid in tow.

We will definitely be staying at the River Road Inn again. And as good as it was to get away, sleep in, shop by ourselves and enjoy a long drive without kid music...it was SO GOOD to get back and smother Silas with hugs and kisses. We were basically fighting over who got to put him to bed tonight :)

So cute! We just might have to keep this place in mind for one of our anniversary escapes. Glad you had such a relaxing, "off duty" time together!
