2010 marks year number two spent at Ruttger's on Bay Lake celebrating the 4th of July. And as always, we had a blast! The weather was wonderful and the company even better.
Silas took everything in and was definitely in his element. He loves being outside and so spending every day outside playing in the sand or riding in a boat was perfect for him.
I'd say the funnest part of the trip for me was watching Silas explore and seeing his reaction to all of the new things. He is at such a fun age for a trip like this and we were really surprised at how well he did in a new environment. We thought he did better there than he does at home! I imagined us chasing him around the resort, him refusing the stroller and getting into everything. Actually, he loved the stroller ( he even took a nice long nap in it so Joe and I could play some tennis), he was a good listener, used sign language instead of whining, and even put up with wearing a life jacket 50% of the trip.
Dan and Amy brought a babysitter that we were able to utilize a few times which made a world of difference when it came to going out to eat and enjoying the afternoon during nap time. Thanks guys!
Kaylee and Silas having a moment on the pontoon. Silas really enjoyed Kaylee!
Here is the Boo Nutt relaxing in the shade on the boat with beverage of choice.
Adam (ten months older than Silas) explaining to Silas the importance of wearing a life jacket. Speaking of, Silas did pretty well wearing that big, bulky thing. It served as a comfortable cushion and pillow a few times as he took a snooze on the boat.

Sunday morning we headed to Church Island to check out the service. Silas taking a quick cat nap before the church.
Church Island. It was a short service complete with instruments, a choir and of course an old boat filled with sand and toys for the squirlly kids!
Here he is eating an apple and enjoying the beautiful morning at the lake
Getting ready for the fireworks. We weren't sure how Silas was going to react to them. Last year he just slept through the display. This year he hated them-a little too loud and scary so we headed inside once he started shaking. Maybe next year he'll enjoy them a little more :) He did enjoy the pre-fireworks show which included some live music and dancing.
Adam loved the fireworks. Here he is patiently waiting...
