14 months!

I haven't busted out the camera since nausea set in, but I have these pictures that were taken a few weeks ago to share with you. I can't believe this little guy is 14 months already.  Here he is playing under the table on our deck (in his new/used overalls from the consignment sale...might I add!)
He wakes up in the morning. I stumble down the stairs with in my arms. We hit the wood floor and he squirms to get free so he can run to the deck door and pound on in. He loves to be outside. Balls and slides have nothing on sticks and rocks.

There have been a few additions to his vocabulary.  He now says "yuck!" especially if his hands are dirty. He is always pointing at dogs (or cats, or basically anything with four legs) and saying "dog!" He also is obsessed with lights. Every time I carry him in the garage he looks up at the light, points and says "dat!" And of course there is "dada" and an occasional "maaam" or "mama". And lots and lots of random babbles.

With a boy that knows what he wants and who also has a limited vocabulary things can get a little frustrating. Sometimes he looks at me in the eye and babbles and points and I don't know what he wants and he gets really upset. But nothing a snack can't fix :-)

Speaking of snacks...Silas continues to eat, and eat, and eat, and eat.  Everything. Joe and I get a kick out of his mature taste buds. The latest introductions were tomatoes, zucchini and bell peppers. We have also introduced Popsicles-and they have obviously been a big hit.

Unfortunately, as Silas has gotten older he has developed some separation anxiety.  Church nursery, Kids Klub at the gym or basically anyone besides Joe, my dad or myself...he cries. It's always short lived and when we pick him up he's always having fun, but it is a bummer to leave your kid while they're crying and reaching for you.

Like I've mentioned before...Silas is obsessed with my dad. Joe and I went to a wedding last weekend and we dropped him off at my parents' house. We pulled up and dad was outside pulling weeds. Silas took one look at him through the car window and reached for him with a big grin on his face. Dad took him out of the car and Silas didn't even look back at us to wave goodbye. I love their sweet connection...it makes my heart so happy!

Between the words, the food and the separation issues...that's about all the 'new' around here with the rascal. Oh, and the fact that he has THIRTEEN teeth! The molars came in without a fuss...and now he's working on his eye-teeth and YIKES..those are rough. Fever, runny nose, irritable, biting and chewing on everything. Poor guy!

The last fourteen months have been such a fun adventure. We love you Boopy!!
