We celebrated Christmas with my family on Christmas Eve day. This was my first year hosting Christmas, and basically my first time hosting anything family related. Because of the snow storm we had to start Christmas earlier and end it earlier so my brother and his family, who now live in Nashville, could get back to Eden Prairie (where they are staying) before the second blizzard. I think my brother forgot that he lived in Minnesota for thirty five years before they moved to Nashville... and therefore forgot that he does know how to drive in the snow! Besides the fact that Joe couldn't celebrate with us because he was out plowing, everything worked out pretty well. As you can see Joe made it back in time for a quick family photo before the second wave of snow came in (aka before my bro and his family had to leave!) and that I am thankful for (Joe's appearance, not the snow!)
Here is Silas enjoying his first Christmas. Forget the gifts because waving tissue paper around is way better!
Uncle Robbie having his coffee and Silas drinking his bottle in the midst of all of the gifts!

Deb and her pretty girls!
Griff and Laura being Merry.
After lunch and gift opening we went outside and played in the snow. Sami and Maggie (my nieces who now live in TN) were dying to get outside! Here they are getting pulled on the toboggan by my brother in our backyard.

My dad and I took turns pulling Silas on a little sled. This was his first time in a snowsuit AND in the snow AND on a sled. He seemed very indifferent. As you can see from his blank stare. That is how he looked the whole time we were outside. Poor kid was so tired. He took a teeny tiny nap and didn't sleep well the night before....must've been the Night Before Christmas jitters! And look at Sydnee so pretty in pink!
After the gang left Joe and I quick celebrated our Christmas before he had to go out and plow again. I framed a 5 x 7 photo of Silas for him to have at his office.
And he got me a photo album (which I asked for) and new ear buds for my ipod. Thanks Joe! And, he even picked out two outfits for Silas to open up that I had no idea about! What a sweet Daddy. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
The King is here!!
