Morning with dad

Every other Sunday I volunteer at our church nursery at the 9am service. Last weekend was my volunteer weekend. I set out clothes for Joe to put Silas in for church and went on my merry way.

On my volunteer weeks I meet up with Joe and Silas in the centrum between services. Sure enough I look and see Joe holding Silas, who is slipping out of his hands. Silas has his outfit on backwards, no shoes on and his jacket not actually on him, but wrapped around him like a blanket. I was laughing. And then I got closer and realized that he had a dirty undershirt on. And the reason I could see the undershirt was because the outfit Joe put on Silas (that was backwards) had three snaps down the front (that are supposed to be down the back) and they weren't snapped. The undershirt he had on was the the one he wore the day before that I had to change him out of because it was soaked in drool. I wish I had a picture! Bright green undershirt peeking through a backwards blue and brown outfit with a train embroidered on the back and three snaps down the front that are unsnapped. This is the same dad that once asked me if the shirt goes under or over the overalls.

Angel: Joe, his outfit is on backwards!
Joe: Oh, the train goes in the front?
Angel: (laughing) And why did you put this shirt on under his outfit? (usually I don't put a onsie on him under his clothes because he is very sensitive to heat. As in we can't put him in footsie pajamas because he freaks out!)
Joe: It was sitting on the counter. I thought you laid it out for him to wear.
Angel: No shoes?
Joe: (smiling)

We got a good laugh out of the situation!

So I took the little ragga muffin to the nursery and got him situated. I don't even want to think about what Silas would've looked like if I hadn't set out clothes for Joe to put on him.
