We stumbled upon a camp ground and this was the secluded beach right across the bridge.
I had never been to Madeline Island, or even heard of it for that matter. The great thing was that it is a place that is close (4 hr drive) but when you're there it seems as though you're so far away. I continued to remind myself that Lake Superior is in fact a lake not an ocean.

I spent one morning with the boys fishing. I don't really care to fish, but my mother in law offered to watch Silas and a break from the daily grind sounded appealing and plus I love being on the water. We rented a boat and a Captain for 5 hrs and Captain Dave took us fishing on Lake Superior.

Silas and Grandpa on the ferry having a moment.

It's always fun to get away and enjoy some different scenery, but in the same sense it's always nice to get home and sleep in your own bed and have your baby sleep in his own bed where he actually SLEEPS.
